All of our psychologists utilize a unique approach to their psychotherapy. We have found that it is important to embrace different types of therapeutic practice from Psychodynamic, to Motivational Interviewing, to Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Many of our psychologists continually obtain certifications in other theoretical practices like Part Theory and Eco Therapy.

What skills and experience are essential for success in psychology careers?

Our clinicians who thrive at PCP demonstrate skills in adaptability, communication, trust, and collaboration. We appreciate all the experience that candidates come with and require a Post-Doctoral Internship to be completed. We also require a current license registered with the California Board of Psychology.

Absolutely, psychology is a very needed field in California especially in skilled nursing facilities. The services we offer are available through a handful of other companies; however, PCP psychologists provide psychological services of the highest quality.

What are some tips for a successful interview at Pacific Coast Psychology?

Successful interviewees come with a list of questions about the role including our company culture. First impressions are important; show us who you are without telling us (dress professionally, smile, and have an appropriate background for the video interview, if conducted remotely). Successful interviewees arrive on time and are able to engage effortlessly for the duration of the interview.  

What is the work environment like at Pacific Coast Psychology?

The work environment is very open at PCP. We value over-communicating. We encourage our team members to reach out with any questions they have either through email, phone, text (or even carrier pigeon). We can’t help if we don’t know and we always want to know. 

Our leadership team is always available to you and wants you to succeed and meet your goals in work and in life. Being that PCP is spread across California, our leadership team makes a conscious effort to ensure our all-staff meetings are enjoyable as well as informative.

Does Pacific Coast Psychology offer opportunities for professional development?

Absolutely! PCP offers opportunities for professional development and upward mobility within the company. We provide monthly Clinical Case Consultations where all team members are able to come with clinical queries and glean impactful information from their peers. In these consultations, Licensed Psychologists are also able to receive 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for attending. There are also opportunities to attend conferences on behalf of the company and to present personal findings during all-staff meetings.
