“When I was at a low point, calling around looking for help and being turned down curtly by office after office because they were fully booked or didn’t offer what I was asking for, Dr. Williams himself answered. I was looking for a specialist in a type of treatment which he told me he was not, but I’ll never forget how he immediately offered to help me and said upfront that if it wasn’t the help I needed that he would help me find a suitable replacement. For months since then, I’ve opened up about every issue that came to mind both past and present, some far more grave or weighty than others, and he has listened to each and every one without any judgment or aggressive calls to action. Any time I’m not clear, he asks for clarification and proves that he is intently listening, something a surprising number of members in my past treatment teams have lacked. With his careful guidance and assurance that I am setting the pace myself, I’m able to process past trauma and the pitfalls of the present, making tangible progress every day, shown in the way I approach issues that have previously gotten the better of me. When I’m feeling down on myself or punishing myself for mistakes both past and present, Dr. Williams encourages me to maintain the same compassion and understanding that i would give others in a similar position.
